Not unrelated to recent posts, today’s Saturday Fun Day is about FIREWORKS!

Now, keep in mind all the safety tips we just discussed, okay?
Fireworks were not a big part of my life growing up, because they were illegal where I lived. Then I moved to Tennessee, where there are fireworks tents, booths, and stands on every corner, lighting up the night in vivid neon and searchlights. That was new.
Then I moved to Missouri, where I live now, and guess what…everything is legal here! EVERYTHING!! Well…most everything. But we just weren’t in the habit of buying fireworks and doing them in our own yard, driveway, etc.
But other people do! They go crazy with it. They buy stuff all year long and then explode things night and day–bright, shiny things! Glowy, sparkly things!
THINGS THAT DO NOT COST VERY MUCH! Fireworks are really cheap! If they are legal where you live, even little kids can swoosh around a sparkler or ooh and ahh at something bright.
And you can do it any time. It doesn’t have to be 4th of July. It can be a birthday or a graduation or a good grade card. They’re available all year round, and don’t take any special equipment or skill–just common sense.
We spent all night doing this last night out in the country at some friends’ house. And it did not cpst us a cent. It was great!
