The use of Cadmium isn’t banned in the US, as long as the item isn’t intended to be used as a toy. Cadmium is used in certain colors to brighten appearance, but in it has been found to be more dangerous than lead.
Cadmium has been linked to a variety of serious ailments, including kidney and liver damage. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention rank it as the seventh most hazardous substance in the environment.
