The Campbell’s owned SpaghettiOs has issued a recall of 15 million pounds of it’s popular meatball variety of canned meals. Thankfully, there has been no reported illness and the recall was issues soon after the problem was discovered by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.
The United States Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service recalled over 15 million pounds of the canned meal today, including the following:
- *SpaghettiOs with Meatballs, with the product code "U5" on the bottom
- *SpaghettiOs A to Z with Meatballs with the code "4N" on the bottom
- *SpaghettiOs Fun Shapes with Meatballs (Cars) with the product code "KS" on the bottom
The recall comes on the heels of a normal inspection that has found the meat in the meatballs to be undercooked to meet guidelines. The affected cans have a production date of December 2008 and June 2010, with use by dates falling between June 2010 and December 2011. If you have any of the above named products, you can return them to the store they were purchased at for a full refund.
