While as of now Gosselin isn’t sure what his book will be about, there are some sources who claim that it will be about parenting and the responsibilities that come along with it.

Some sources are claiming that the famously divorced Octodad will be teaming up with a leadership coach Dr Sylvia Lafair to write his tome, although he claims he still isn’t sure about what it will be about.

Gosselin has had a lot of attention from publishers seeking to make some dough off the famous divorce and questionable behavior during his time globetrotting and cavorting with various ‘lady friends’. While an insider claims that the book won’t be featuring the more sordid years, there is said to be plans to talk about the sextuplets that helped he and ex-wife Kate become reality stars.

"What the book won’t be focusing on is how quickly he moved on, after Kate, with two much younger girlfriends, his partying nights in Las Vegas or his new huge tattoo that covers his entire back."

Read more: From NY Daily

While his more public dramas may have many wondering what exactly he could offer to parents, the book is likely to still be a success due to the attention he’s received.

Would you be reading it?

A picky eater can throw a wrench into meal planning. While the rest of the family may happily eat almost anything, some are finding themselves forced into submission (or at the very least macaroni and cheese again). There may be help out there after the fact, but it can help to limit ‘kids’ foods until your child is older and has a taste of other culinary meals (namely, grown up food).

What if your child is already a picky eater though? Do you sneak in good stuff, beg, plead, or just try and hope that they will grow out of it? A more drastic move may be giving them no other option than what you serve (after all how many really want to make a separate meal for each member of the family?).

While sure, many do know that starting kids off with certain foods can improve their success with others, it can also limit success depending on the child. Keeping a steady supply of kid-friendly cuisine can be tempting (especially when most are done in under a minuet and things are busy).

However one handles a picky eater, they can rest assured that it will pass, eventually. Finding a way around their dietary demands however is harder when they will only eat a few separate things.

So, that leads into the question: How do you handle your picky eater?

With one school facing no discipline for spying and others having their hands in bullying, it can be a cause for concern.

That concern is obviously far greater if it is your child being bullied.

So, what can be done if it isn’t the other children but instead a teacher, or the system itself that is posing the problem?

Talk to those that are the problem. Talking calmly and rationally may be able to help, it may not be 100% the teacher’s (or whomever else) fault, and there are many chances that things can be misinterpreted when a parent hears it second hand.

Don’t be afraid to go over someone’s head. Find the ‘higher up’ in charge of those that are the cause for concern. Write out a calmly worded letter and if you are worried about them receiving it, send it certified.

If the problem is severe enough, contact the appropriate authorities. While there is a chance that if can have the same outcome as the spying incident, it is still better than doing nothing.

While it isn’t often that the above is needed, when the case of the school being the issue it is difficult to find a solution. If possible, switching schools may be the only choice. With understaffing, and budgeting problems there are many more people recently that are finding that it’s not always the other children that are the cause of schooling anxiety.

Many think that only children will suffer socially, especially when compared to their peers with siblings. However, more research has been done into the singletons, and the results aren’t too surprising.

Only children are as social as their peers, and being an ‘only’ doesn’t effect social skills. While they may lag a bit upon first entering school, the playing field does even out fairly quickly.

According to the research team (oddly enough, the same research team that found that only children did show a difference):

“Once you’ve been in school for a while it may be that you’ve had plenty of opportunities for peer interaction and you overcome that deficit,” says Downey. “That’s what we found…. It looks like all of that washes out by the time [students] reach adolescence.”

(Source)

While there is still the slight lag, the playing field levels due to the school interaction. The team also mentions that if a parent is concerned about any lag, or would like to introduce social situations with peers sooner- to go ahead. Playgroups, preschool, and other child-related groups are a great way to get your singleton used to social interaction earlier.
